Exceptionally warm comfortable and compact. The exped 7 inflates to 7cm in height as opposed to the exped 9 which inflates to 9cm and is incredibly comfortable as an air mattress should be. I actually have one of the original thermarests from the early 90 s and it s still in use they truly are excellent sleeping pads. The downmat 7 is the mat for all seasons.

Top quality down insulation. This was one of our favorite pads to sleep on and gave us many good nights of sleep. Easy to pump up and deflate and comfortable we have even slept on cold concrete floors with no problems. It also has an internal pump which is a nifty feature though most testers found it unnecessary.

It s also pretty difficult to fully inflate the pad because at a certain point the pump will be below the inflated part and it becomes difficult to depress. Compared with the original downmat 7 the ul7 is a real featherweight. If you re pulling a sled or maybe you ve got dogs to pull a sled or llamas mules or some other beast of burden to carry this pad for you weight and packed size is less of an issue. The exped synmat 7 is an insulated air construction sleeping pad that is quite comfortable. No getting around it this pad is heavy and takes up lots of space in your pack.

Packing size is smaller than any other mat. The exped downmat 7 is an incredible sleeping mat when it works developed by an exceptional company with some of the best customer service people i have ever had the pleasure of doing interacting with. Exped went above and beyond to help me out when my mat failed. Because nothing compresses better than down it packs extremely small and tight.

The downmat 7 is a great backpacking pad that is pretty comfortable and keeps you warm. In size m the downmat 7 is 845g while its stripped back offspring tips the scales at just 587g my weight. The integrated pump makes inflation swift and simple. However the benefits of this pad are offset by its heavy weight.

Best mat i have had so far in 40 years camping. Add another 80g for the stuff sack and pump bag. I think that exped downmat 7 is a best mat for a winter.
