Don t forget to put something behind your fabric unless you don t mind getting paint on your table.
Fabric paint shirt stencil using vinyl.
Using paper or cardboard mask off the t shirt so only the stencil in visible.
One quick layer will do the trick.
I use the paper backing from the vinyl or contact paper since it s always the perfect size.
You are now ready to begin painting in the stencil.
You can use just fabric paint the glitter is optional.
I opted to use spray paint but you can easily use a foam brush and fabric paint.
If you use regular spray paint your shirt will be too stiff.
I traced around the stencil and then removed the vinyl once finished.
I use fabric paint and a stiff stenciling brush.
Once you have printed your stencil use masking tape or transfer tape to hold everything in place.
I cut a vinyl stencil and applied it to the shirt.
Carefully smooth the vinyl stencil on the fabric you wish to print we chose t shirts and gently lift away the masking or transfer tape.
I m using this 12 x 6 wood board that came pre hung with a rope but you can use any board that has a flat surface.
Put a piece of cardboard in between the front and back shirt layers to prevent paint bleeding.
Spray lightly and it might take a couple of passes.
Try to do even strokes around the stencil.
Allow the paint to dry for 15 minutes before removing the.
Stencil entirely around the outside edge of the design before moving toward the center.
Place thick paper or cardboard inside the shirt to prevent bleeding.
Stencil the area on the fabric by starting on the outer edge of the design and work in.
Using spray adhesive to a stencil.
You have to use fabric spray paint.
